How Creative Polymer created a giant 3D-printed beverage can for an X-Mas event
When brands want to be seen, standard isn't enough. For Gönrgy's X-Mas event, Gönrgy, an extraordinary highlight was to be created:
an oversized beverage can, manufactured using 3D printing, suspended above a show car in a ski hall – right in the middle of a major live event.
A project that combined design, construction, and production under extreme time pressure and placed the highest demands on stability, surface finish, and safety.
Project Overview: Gönrgy X-Mas Event at Snow-World Bispingen
The X-Mas Event took place just before Christmas at Snow-World Bispingen and was broadcast live on Twitch. In addition to Monte (MontanaBlack) over 500 well-known content creators were on site – the event remained a talking point in the scene even days later.
Central element of the staging:
- a giant Gönrgy can
- freely suspended above a vehicle from JP Performance
- perfectly illuminated for camera and audience

On the day of the event, the oversized Gönrgy can hung exactly as planned above the show car. It became the central focal point of the event and generated significant attention in the livestream and on social media.

From concept to realization – custom production under high pressure
The timeline was exceptionally tight:
- December 3: Project start & final idea
- December 9: Start of 3D printing
- December 21: Completion & Event
The idea and the initial 3D model came from the client.
Our task at Creative Polymer was to take this model for large-format 3D printing to optimize it, structurally adapt it, and develop a secure suspension solution .
Packaging the finished object for secure shipping
Metallic Paint on Plastic
For the authentic look of a real beverage can, a high-quality metallic finish was necessary – a particular challenge on plastic.
The paint system included:
- special primers
- multi-stage paint layers
- final sealing
The result: A surface that looks like real metal even up close – ideal for event lighting and camera shots.
The 3D print is created in individual parts. The printers ran for 4 consecutive days
For painting, the object must first be primed, and the metallic look is achieved through several consecutive layers of paint.

Size, Weight & Dimensions
The Gönrgy can was deliberately produced far beyond its original size to achieve maximum long-distance impact.
- Height: 2.00 m
- Diameter: 80 cm
- Total weight: 50 kg
Especially for objects of this size, the right balance between material usage and stability is crucial.
Printing Process & Production Time
The can was produced in several segments using industrial 3D printing technology produced.
- Total Print Time: 96 hours
- Material: durable technical plastic (PETG)
- Assembly: precise bonding & post-processing
After printing, extensive sanding and filling were carried out to achieve an absolutely uniform surface.
Metal profiles ensure the stability of the angled suspension from the ceiling. Can clip for size comparison.
For the perfect surface finish and metallic paint, the surface had to be sanded super smooth.
Construction & Stability for Suspended Mounting
One of the biggest challenges was the fact that the can not upright, but suspended should be presented.
Our solution:
- internal reinforcement structures
- customized wall thicknesses
- custom-designed mounting structure
- defined load and suspension points
This ensured that the can even for extended periods could be securely installed – a crucial factor for public events.
