From Concept to Icon: How the two-meter-tall "Agri-Hero" emerged from an idea – a trade fair highlight that combines technology, creativity, and a lot of passion.
The idea of presenting a real hero at a trade fair might initially sound like a playful concept – but it's precisely such ideas that often have the greatest impact. Because those who manage to make a brand not just visible, but experiential, leave a lasting impression.
In the case of the Agri-Hero, a desire for attention transformed into an imposing symbol of strength, groundedness, and modern agriculture. Two meters tall, strikingly designed, and full of character – this figure became the centerpiece of a trade fair presence that was more than just a presentation: it was a statement.
Mission Trade Fair Highlight – How the Agri-Hero was brought to life!
The origin story of the "Agri-Hero," as we affectionately named him, began with a simple idea: “Wouldn't it be great if we could put a real hero at our booth at this year's DeLuTa trade fair?”

This is how market leader Betriko – the company behind AGRARMONITOR, a software extremely popular with farmers and agricultural contractors for managing daily operations in agricultural businesses – approaching us with the request to design a two-meter-tall hero. Since every second agricultural contractor in Germany AGRARMONITOR uses it and the software makes the hard work of thousands of people easier every day, the idea was obvious to honor these "everyday heroes" with a suitable figure.
To effectively convey this image externally and present it with pride, the people responsible at Betriko asked us if we could create an "Agricultural Hero" for them that would truly live up to its name.

In this case, 3D printing offers numerous advantages over other manufacturing processes: You can gradually work your way towards the final design in a virtual space, make design iterations, or even pursue entirely new approaches – and do so relatively cost-effectively. Sometimes, it only becomes clear during the design process that the initial idea requires a complete overhaul. This was exactly our experience with the Agricultural Hero.

Originally, he was still meant to strongly resemble a hero from the Marvel Universe, until the valid objection was raised that no farmer would likely identify with fancy Marvel costumes. He shouldn't wear a skin-tight superhero suit, but rather dirty work clothes. And he shouldn't hold a scepter, but rather corn cobs and wrenches. The Agricultural Hero should appear strong and proud, represent the hard work in the field, and exude confidence for the future. After all, he does hard work and should look the part.

At the next meeting, we then presented a new concept that we could loosely base our work on. Some details were adjusted live during the meeting in ZBrush, the go-to 3D modeling software for organic designs – a highlight for our clients, as it allowed them to experience the creation process firsthand and actively participate in shaping it. Thus, the enthusiasm and the "This is it!" feeling were very strong when the Agricultural Hero reached its final design iteration.

But wait, there's more. The Agri-Hero wasn't just meant to impress at trade fairs, but also on the streets. During its production, Betriko had an additional idea:
"Wouldn't it be great to put the Agri-Hero on our transporters too?"
So Betriko asked us for a high-resolution rendering of the newly created Agri-Hero to use for wrapping their company vehicles. This way, its impressive appearance would not only attract attention at trade fairs but also out on the streets in everyday life.
Although detailed 3D data already existed, high-quality renderings typically require expertise beyond the actual 3D printing process. Fortunately, our 3D design team brings a wealth of experience from the video game and 3D visualization industries, allowing us to master this task with ease.
Whether it's large-format prints or photo and print design – we always find it exciting when our figures get a new life beyond the print bed. In this case, the Agri-Hero is now even becoming a street star!

And then it was finally finished: A monumental Agri-Hero, enthroned at DeLuTa 2024 with poise, pride, and a corn cob in hand. Betriko – and we at Creative Polymer – were thrilled by how strongly the message resonated with trade fair visitors.

With this project, we have once again shown what is possible when passionate ideas, state-of-the-art technology, and creative craftsmanship come together. Whether it's a superhero in work clothes or the latest mascot for a large corporation – large-format 3D printing opens up endless possibilities for bringing stories into the world.
Do you also have a hero that urgently needs to be brought to life? Then contact us – we look forward to exploring new dimensions with you.

Although we knew the Agrarheld, with its planned height of two meters, would be an imposing eye-catcher, we were amazed every single time the first segments emerged from our large-format 3D printers:
"Man, he's going to be huge!"
Who hasn't experienced this with vacation photos? – Nothing looks as impressive on screen or on paper as it does in reality.
What's a life-sized 3D print without a proper finish? Everyone always eagerly awaits this moment, because this final step breathes life into the figure and gives it the unmistakable look everyone is working towards.
We are ready for a wide range of requests: Whether it's about precisely matching a specific shade or if we're allowed to get creative with the color design – we have true paint magicians on board for every scenario. From a metallic or chrome-like surface to matte or rough – we achieve the desired effect.
For the Agrarheld, we were able to agree on specific colors beforehand and ensure, using a digital color picker and precise visual assessment, that the tones were absolutely spot-on. A little strategically applied "dirt" from hard work, and voilà: The result is truly something to behold!
Our airbrush experts gave the Agrarheld a high-quality finish. This final artistic touch gave the figure a vibrant, professional finish, making it finally exhibition and camera-ready.

This way, the Agrarheld is not only easier to transport but also highly customizable depending on its location. Whether he stands with or without a cape, or holds a wrench or a shovel – anything is possible.
